Military Moments & Mountain Views

Today we started with a chartered bus ride to the U.S army base, Camp Casey, which is just a little bit outside of Seoul. The chartered bus was a great relief after many days of busy public transportation. We toured Camp Casey with Pitt alumni, Grace and Will. The tour was very eye-opening and informative. We got to walk around the base and see what a day in the life for the soldiers looks like, including the ups and downs. We also got to talk with Grace, Will, and many other soldiers on base. They showed us some military equipment and explained some things they are currently doing. For lunch, we ate at a food place where I got a yummy calzone. After we left Camp Casey, Grace came with us to go on a short hike up Mt. Soyosan. It only took about an hour but it has a beautiful trail and precious views. I took a lot of photos of the mountain before we headed back to the bottom. After the hike, we rode back to the hotel on the chartered bus again. We were given some free time for the rest of the evening where a couple of us traveled and got dinner at a small burger shop. It was delicious and the workers were very nice. It was another great day in Korea and I am excited for the trip to the DMZ tomorrow.
