Saturday was a short day for activities. We went to Bukchon Hanok Village and saw the traditional Korean homes. It was very pretty and once we walked up, we could see Seoul tower. We also were able to go to a buddhist temple in the city area, and it was gorgeous with all the decorations.
Afterwards, we went to Namdaemun market and looked at some of the stands they had before getting lunch. We stopped at a cute store and Susu decided to buy a dinosaur body pillow. In the store there was a free photo receipt, so we took a few pictures for fun. At lunch we had a few options to choose from but I got bibimbap. I love some bibimbap, but this one didn’t have any meat in it so it wasn’t as good as some others I’ve had.
A few days before, I had made plans to meet up with my grandfather’s friend and his wife, so Susu and I went to Seoungsu to meet them there. They were very sweet and took us on a little shopping spree. Our first stop was Olive Young, and we found some hair and skin care items. The next place we went was an accessory store and I was able to find a hair clip and a necklace. Eventually we made our way to the sushi bar and ate. I’ve never had raw fish before, so it was an experience, but it wasn’t bad. To digest we took a short walk then went to a cafe to try some cakes. We were able to chat for an hour before heading back to the hotel. I’m glad we had the chance to meet during this trip, and they offered us a place to stay if we ever came back to Korea. I was exhausted at the end of the day, yet I stayed up a little bit later than I should’ve. Tomorrow is the hike that a few of us signed up for. I’m excited but it’s super early so I’m worried I won’t wake up. We shall see!
