Military & Mountains

Our day started by meeting in the lobby and taking our coach bus north, to Camp Casey. We met outside of the camp to meet the two Pitt Alumni who would be showing us the area. As soon as we got off the bus, we got our identities verified with our passports. We then got permission to head inside. The bus was parked, and we were off to walk the grounds of the base. We started by going to see the strikers which is the military’s vehicle fleet. Taking pictures of these vehicles, as well as of the base, was prohibited as it was all to be kept secret. There were a few other military men that spoke to our group about their specialties in the army. We continued touring the base and saw barracks, shops, barber shops, restaurants, and more places to eat. We ate at one of their food court areas, the Impact Zone. It was like a piece of America- calzones, onion rings, pizza, and mozzarella sticks. Best of all, we were able to pay with American dollars. Then, we went with Grace, one of the Pitt Alumni, to take a hike on Mt. Soyosan. The hike wasn’t too long, but it provided some great sites to see! It ended with a waterfall and small gift shop. Then we headed back to the hotel after the hike. A few of the girls went to get their nails done, so me Matt and Jacob went to get Korean BBQ for dinner. It was delicious as we got to try 4 kinds of meat, and it was only about $30 a person! We then met up with the girls at Coex mall where we did some shopping and ran into more students from our group! We had a fun day of exploring and shopping.
