Our last day in Cyprus was even better than I had hoped it would be. I learned so much on the way to our first stop, my favorite fact being that Cyprus is home to the longest snake in Europe, the black whip snake. I have learned so much these past two weeks from our tour guide Georgia, and I couldn’t be more grateful for her infinite knowledge and calming presence. The first stop that Georgia took us too was the St. Minas Monastery. There were beautiful gardens surrounding the building, and inside were icons dating back to the Ottoman period. On the way to our next stop I learned about the barren stripes on the mountains in Cyprus, maintained to stop any potential forest fires. After another informative bus ride, we ended our day’s adventure in the gorgeous town of Lefkara. This was one of the most picturesque places I have ever been, and walking around, taking pictures, and learning about silverware and lace was a great way to end this trip. I have had such an incredible experience these past two weeks in Cyprus, and I am so grateful for everyone that made this experience possible!
