Last Day!!

Our day began with a presentation about the process of creating a product and getting it on the market. I like that this presentation focused on the importance of the communicating with a team of medical professionals in order to create the best possible product. This trip has been so eye opening for me. I never really understood the importance of a connection between nurses and engineers, and now I see that it is essential. Nurses and engineers really aren’t that different at all, they’re both focused on helping other people and creating the most efficient way to do that. The product and the treatment are both always centered on the patient. At the end of the day, we are all after the same goal: Bettering the lives of others.

I would like to take a moment to thank everyone at Pitt who made this experience possible. It was nothing like I had expected and I truly believe that it has made me a more capable and well rounded person. It will help me tremendously in my nursing career. This trip has made me so much more independent and I’m so grateful to have met all of these people and seen all of these places. Special shoutout to Nora and Harv, the best chaperons there ever was.

The greatest of all time
