Today felt different right from the start. We headed to Munich, and the moment we got there, it was clear that this was a whole new vibe from the smaller towns we’d seen so far. It was a perfect Saturday — sunny, warm, and absolutely packed. For the first time on the trip, I felt like I was back in an American city, just based on the number of people and how fast everything was moving.

That said, Munich still had its own charm. The old city is beautiful, full of history and energy, and it’s the kind of place you could walk around for hours and still find something new. Coming from Philly, I’m used to city life, so the chaos didn’t really bother me — in fact, I kind of enjoyed it.

We took a walking tour that gave us a great feel for the city’s history, architecture, and major landmarks. Afterward, we stopped for lunch at a traditional Bavarian spot, and I went with the sausage — no regrets. It hit the spot and felt like a classic Munich meal.

During our free time, a few of us found an Irish pub and caught some Bundesliga matches. I’ve always loved football, so being in a real European pub, surrounded by fans who live and breathe the sport, was one of those moments I’ll remember for a long time. It honestly felt like a dream.

We wrapped up the day with a casual dinner and then took the train back to Augsburg. After a day of crowds, noise, and nonstop movement, the quiet ride home was exactly what I needed. I’m glad I got a little taste of Munich now — and even more excited to come back after the program ends and really dive in.
