Last few days : Day 11, 12, 13

Today was a chill day. We woke at 7:30 as usual for breakfast at 8:00. Straight after breakfast, we started our presentations on Bio’s chocolate factory. My teammates are Maddie, Mark, and Kayhaan. We went to our rooms and sat outside working on our presentation. Afterwards, we chilled in our rooms for a few hours and waited for lunch. After lunch, we headed for town. We first went to a grocery store and I got these very yummy mayonnaise chips and a coffee ice cream. I noticed there were many dogs, and we saw many monkeys climbing the wires. Afterwards, Maddie, Lama, Carter, and I walked around and bought bracelets. Then a dog started following me. The dog was a beautiful brown Dalmatian mix. She kept following me, but then we went to meet up with the rest of the group for pizza. Then I went out to find the doggy again. I fed her some bread, then we headed back to the boats. She followed us to the river. We then said our goodbyes and headed back. The river was quite scary because it was rocking and had whirlpools. Eli told us there lies a huge snake. After we got back, we rested, then ate dinner. After dinner, Carter started his Zumba class at 9:30. Carter, Meg, Alexa, Rohan, and Christian were all there. I had so much fun learning the dances. After that, it was time for bed, and that’s a wrap!!

Today was our presentation day and our last night at Iyarina. We began our day with breakfast at around 8. Then, many groups started working on the presentations. Since my group had nearly finished, we took the time for ourselves. I was able to get 2 naps in today. I slept around 10, then chilled on my phone for a bit and headed to lunch at 1. After lunch, I went back to my room and chilled more. It then started raining, and I thought I was perfect for a nap again. I think that was the best sleep I had in Ecuador. Afterward, my group met for a run-through of the presentation. Then at 5, we started the presentations. Our group presentation on Bio’s chocolate, and we acted as a consulting team. Afterward, we voted for the best advertising videos( we got last lol). Then we got ready to go visit the city of Tena. We at dinner and headed straight to Tena. At Tena, we got crepes and milkshakes. Around 11:30, we got a taxi ( went the wrong direction for 15 minutes) and headed back to the lodge. And that’s our last night at Iyarina!

Starting off our last day, the breakfast was delicious. We had French toast that came with a yummy, sweet syrup. Then we headed for the bus. Today, we will make 4 stops before heading to the airport. After 2 hours of driving, we arrived at the cloud forest. The forest was steep and slippery, but we still hiked a bit of it. Then we went back to the bus and headed for a hummingbird exhibit. After about 1 hour of driving, we arrived. There were so many hummingbirds, and we met a very lovely dog. She was very hyper but kept her distance as well. We ate at the hummingbird exhibit and then headed back to the bus. Our last stop was a park/ mountain area. We saw llamas/ alpacas there, and there were fish. Then we started our trip to the airport. After a few hours at the airport, we are off. Goodbye Ecuador!!
