Deutschland, ich komme!

Hi! My name is Lily Abraham, and I am a sophomore here at Pitt majoring in Marketing and Supply Chain Management. On campus, I am a member of the professional business fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi, and I work on the marketing committee for my sorority, Chi Omega. You can also find me working at the front desk of the Rec Center. Outside of the classroom and extracurriculars, I enjoy working out, going on long walks, and trying new things around Pittsburgh!

I believe the Plus3 Germany program was introduced to me at just the right time and I can’t wait to depart in a little over a month! Watching my friends have incredible travel experiences with their Plus3 programs last year, I felt like I missed out. When I found out about this opportunity, it seemed like the perfect fit for me, especially because of my major and background in German. I took 3 years of honors German in high school and although I am quite rusty in terms of speaking, I enjoy learning about German culture and have always wanted to experience it firsthand.

Professionally, the opportunity to learn more about the growing automotive industry from a global perspective is something new and intriguing to me. I am looking forward to seeing how large manufacturers, such as Audi, utilize sustainable practices within their supply chains and adapt to global challenges.

I enjoy working in teams and in a collaborative environment, so I think it will be a very cool experience to form relationships with the German students and work closely with them on a project. I can’t wait to meet new people, both from Pitt and Germany. Although it is only two weeks, I know it is going to be filled with new experiences and I can’t wait!
