Hi! My name is Jordyn McLinnahan and I am a sophomore at the University of Pittsburgh from Charlotte, North Carolina. I am double majoring in Finance and Marketing with a minor in Law, Criminal Justice, and Society and a certificate in Sports Management.
On campus I work with Pitt Athletics in the Ticketing Department and serve as a Campus Ambassador for Pearson. I am also involved in several student organizations. I am a member of Delta Sigma Pi, a professional business fraternity. I serve as Secretary for Epsilon Sigma Alpha, a co-ed service fraternity. I also participate in Smart Women Securities and Pitt Program Council. Outside of work and class, I love hanging out with friends, exploring Pittsburgh, reading, and listening to music!
I’ve always wanted to study abroad, and when I heard about the Plus3 program, I knew I had to apply. As an internal transfer into the business school, I thought this program would be a great way to get a taste of studying abroad, since I’m planning to do a full semester abroad next spring. I can’t wait to grow personally, academically, and professionally during this program.
I chose the Plus3 program in Germany because it focuses on business topics that relate to my majors, Finance and Marketing. I’m especially excited to learn more about the automotive industry, supply chains, and sustainability. I want to see how companies use these ideas in real life. I know this program will give me skills and knowledge I can use in my future career.
Beyond academics I can’t wait to explore Germany, try new foods, and experience a new culture. This program feels like the perfect way to start my journey as an international traveler, grow personally, and make life-lasting memories!
