Hi, I’m Ally! I am a freshman at the University of Pittsburgh, studying Marketing with a minor in German. On campus, I am involved in the Fashion Business Association, where we aim to grow both artistically and professionally. Our main event is our annual spring fashion show(it’s coming up – April 18th!), where I will be one of the many models walking the runway. After my time at Pitt, I hope to work within the magazine or advertisement industry, so that I am able to work artistically and collaboratively! My hometown is Peters Township, which is in Washington County and is approximately thirty minutes from Pittsburgh. I love photography, listening to music, learning new songs on the piano, and spending quality time with my friends.
I will be attending the Plus3 Vietnam program this May, and I cannot wait! I chose the Vietnam program because it presents a rare opportunity and it focuses on sustainability, which is something that I value deeply and am actively trying to learn more about. During this trip, I hope to learn about how businesses in less-developed countries such as Vietnam work differently and similarly compared to more-developed countries to be more eco-friendly/maintain their sustainable traditions, and how the Vietnamese economy is effected by the differences in values and lifestyle. I also can’t wait to dive into the local culture and correlate Vietnam’s history to real life experiences. I’m eager to get to know the University of Economics and Finance students that we will be working with throughout the program, as well as push myself to make authentic connections, work hard, and experience the vibrance and diversity that the country has to offer!
