Hi, I’m Ryan Richhart

Hello, my name is Ryan Richhart. I am a first-year student at the University of Pittsburgh. I am a marketing major for the College of Business Administration, and I am also pursuing a certificate in sports management. I am on the executive board for University of Pittsburgh’s Sports Business Association as the vice president of corporate relations. In this role I have gotten to connect with professionals in the sports business industry and have some of them come in as guest speakers to share about their careers with members. I also am apart of Chi Alpha, a Christian ministry here on campus, and I am currently going through their leadership training class to lead a small group next year.

A little bit more about me is I am from Souderton, Pennsylvania. If you have no clue where that is, you’re not the first, but it’s in between Allentown and Philly. As you could probably tell by my major and academic interests, I love sports, particularly football, basketball, and track. Another fun fact is I have never been on a plane before, so I am in for a real treat when we have a 15-hour flight from San Francisco to Hong Kong on the way to Vietnam. I work during the summer for Union League Liberty Hill golf course as outside services and a caddie. I also just recently accepted an internship with the Pittsburgh Steelers for a brand ambassador position.

As mentioned, I am going on the Plus3 Vietnam which I am so excited for. I chose this Vietnam as the program that I wanted to go on because I love different Asian cultures and seeing their history. Also, Vietnam has been growing economically for a long time, and I know it will have many great insights into how they are keeping this growth up. I will learn many skills that can apply to any area of a career in business, such as, presentation and team skills. This program also could help further my professional career because I have an interest in international marketing for the NFL. This opportunity can experience international marketing first hand and give me some insight into this career space.
