Hey everyone! My name is Noah Kim, and I am a first year engineering student at Pitt from Plymouth Meeting, PA. I will enter the Electrical and Computer Engineering program in the fall, and am very excited to learn about smart systems on my trip to South Korea. Currently at Pitt, I am involved in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers club and the Mixed Martial Arts club. I am also pursuing undergraduate research in a lab regarding photonic chips. For fun, I enjoy playing video games, perfumery, and reading.
I chose Plus3 South Korea because it was the most relevant for my field of study. Smart systems and their integration play a key role in Korean society, and I believe this global experience will help me learn how technology and electronics are incorporated into everyday life. I am also looking forward to visiting the Korean tech companies, and seeing how engineers, entrepreneurs, and designers work together in a professional environment. Additionally, this will be my first time in Korea, giving me the opportunity to learn more about my own Korean heritage. To me, this trip will be more than just an educational experience, and will help me learn more about myself.
I leave for South Korea on May 2nd (which is also my birthday!), and I cannot wait to share more about my findings.
