Argentina Awaits!

Hello everyone! My name is Gianna Clark and I am so excited to be a part of Pitt Study Abroad!! I am a freshman Finance (and likely Business Analytics) major with a certificate in Foundations of AI for Business here at the University of Pittsburgh. On campus I am a member of Phi Beta Lambda (PBL), a professional business organization, Reformed University Fellowship, a campus ministry group, Pitt Women’s Club lacrosse, and Undergraduate Finance Club. I also am on the PBL IM soccer team and will be a BUS10 TA starting in the fall!

In terms of my personal life, I am from just outside of Philadelphia, a town called Conshohocken. I have 3 sisters, and this will be my first time leaving the US! I am obsessed with my two dogs, and I love cycling, especially on the Schuylkill river trail right down the road from my house. I also am really into health, wellness, and going to the gym!

My chosen Plus3 location is Buenos Aires, Argentina. I hope to be able to utilize my Spanish speaking skills when abroad, even with the different dialect. This will be a great challenge for me to continue to pursue the language since I have heard that the dialect in Argentina has other outside influences. I am so excited for this opportunity and I hope to gain a global perspective on how companies function, which I then can apply to my studies here in the US. I especially like that Buenos Aires is an urban Plus3 location, so I can more easily compare to business in Pittsburgh or Philadelphia. I also hope to further develop my soft skills. By this I mean, improve my small talk with strangers, get to know people I am not close with, and ultimately learn more about how I function in unfamiliar settings.

I am really looking forward to getting to know everyone more and experience all that Buenos Aires has to offer!!
