At Peace About Greece

on

Hi, my name is Mick Kuhl. I am from Spring City, Pennsylvania. My favorite activities are playing soccer and snowboarding. In my free time, I like to be with my friends or talk to my family. I have declared my major as civil engineering, but I am open to switching to environmental. I am interested in learning about sustainable practices. I want to pursue a degree that enables me to do meaningful work.

Plus3 Greece is a unique opportunity that I am very excited about. I chose this program because I have not been to Greece before, and the industrial engineering aspects appeal to me. I want to learn how different engineering practices fit into the global supply chain. I am interested in storage and transportation, so this will be a perfect opportunity to learn how companies efficiently organize and distribute their goods around the world. I am also keen to learn about Greek culture and how it connects to their history.

This trip aligns with my values as an aspiring civil engineer because I will potentially need to communicate professionally with project stakeholders. This trip will provide me with insight into a professional environment in a new culture. I will try to learn the professional norms and communication chain required to accomplish significant projects. Another way this trip aligns with my future plans is by being able to observe the supply chain in practice. I want to learn how these companies try to mitigate the environmental impact that they leave on local communities. This will broaden my perspective on sustainable implications and enable me to determine if I want to pursue that future.
