Greece and Thank You!

Hello, my name is Massimo Mastria. I am from Berkeley Heights, NJ. I am an electrical engineering major at the Swanson School of Engineering in Pittsburgh. In high school, I really enjoyed problem-solving through mathematics and science, which led me to choose this path. I appreciate all of the different types of engineering, yet I decided on electrical engineering since I have a special appreciation for how electronics operate. I also have a passion to work with nanotechnology once I graduate.

While I am from the suburbs and Pittsburgh is a big city, I have really enjoyed my time here so far. Attending Swanson has allowed me to learn topics I am truly passionate about. While I am usually busy doing work, some hobbies I enjoy are playing tennis and rock climbing. I also enjoy taking bus rides to all the different parts of the city to explore new places. I really enjoy exploring and traveling, which has led me to apply for a Plus 3 destination.

I have a lot of family who live in Europe, and my father is an immigrant from Italy, so when I saw that the Cyprus program was exploring the supply chain on the Mediterranean, I was immediately compelled to come along for the journey. Our location has now been changed to Greece, which is even better since there are thousands of years of history to explore in Greece. I feel as though attending this program will not only be a great experience overall but also allow me to grow as a professional and learn how engineers operate from day to day. I cannot wait to arrive in Greece and begin this great experience.
