Emocionada Por Ecuador

Hi, everyone! My name is Lily Bachmann, and I am originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, though I attended high school outside of Philadelphia. I am currently nearing the end of my first year as a business student at the University of Pittsburgh. Beginning next semester, I will also be pursuing a dual degree in Psychology. On campus, I am an active member of Women in Business, Smart Woman Securities, and the Sustainable Economic Growth Coalition, for which I will be serving as the chair of the Business and Economics Committee in the fall! Outside of school, I love to hang out with friends, spend time outdoors, and read. I also adore learning languages and study Polish, Spanish, and French.

This May, I am beyond excited to be participating in Pitt Business’ Plus 3 Ecuador Program. As someone still exploring their interests within the field of business (and a chocolate enthusiast), I am looking forward to this opportunity to gain real-world experience. I hope to have a career working abroad in the future, so this is the perfect chance to gain some insight on how companies operate internationally.

On a more personal note, I am thrilled for the chance to be immersed in another culture and practice my Spanish with native speakers. The idea of exploring the Amazon, whether through river hikes, eight-hour canoe rides, or by getting to know the Waorani, also greatly excites me. I can’t wait for the adventure ahead!
