30 Hours – Day 0

on

Good morning, everyone! Peep me sleeping on my sweatshirt and jacket last night. Today I am writing my pre-departure blog for South Korea. We just got through TSA at Pittsburgh and are waiting for our flight to Atlanta. Then, we sadly have an 8-hour layover until we get on a 16-hour flight to Seoul. After about 30 hours of travelling, we will be in Seoul and reach our hotel around 6am their time. Once we get some well-needed rest, we will already be on the move to look at a historical palace and have a neighborhood walk.

Back to Pittsburgh for a bit, the new airport is so cool. Everything looks much more modern and is really efficient, from what I have seen. I am just sad the Tram is no longer available to take. Before I left, I tested my bag weight with two of my friends and we both thought it was much more than 50lbs. So, I took some things out and gave them to my friend for his parents to keep until we got back. When I got here, it was only 26lbs. I guess it was just trying to tell me I am weak. Anyways, here I am on my way to Korea with everything I need. Bye Sutherland West 404!

In Korea, once we get there after so long, I am still so excited for our temple stay on days 6 and 7, but I also can’t wait to just experience the culture itself. We also learned that we are doing a K-pop dance class on the second day, and that is going to be so amazing. Get ready to watch some amazing dance moves with that blog. Furthermore, I am so glad to be away from American food for two weeks. Although Pitt food is great, getting to enjoy Korean delicacies and street food for 14 days will be hard to beat. Finally, I promised my friend from my home of Erie, PA, to get some Korean Pokémon cards and unique clothes for us. Also, I will be looking for some nice souvenirs, hopefully some out of Jade, and one for Chris Clineff, who sadly could no longer go due to a sickness. Well, that’s it for now! Have a great day and I will talk to you all after I touch down in Seoul for a day!
