Day 0: Ready to fly

Today’s the day! We are starting our journey to South Korea! It’s been a stressful couple of weeks with finals and moving out of my dorm and prepping for this trip (all within a few days), but now it’s all done and I can (kind of) relax. It felt nostalgic having to leave my dorm behind this morning, and all of my amazing memories from freshman year. However, I was not upset about leaving the stress of finals week in the past. I was lucky and had my last final on Wednesday, unlike many of my classmates for Plus3 (I can’t imagine having a final yesterday and having to move out and be packed for this morning). Now, the only things I’m worried about are the flights. I’ve only flown one other time, and that was about 3 years ago. Those flights were also much shorter than our flight to Korea, which is 16 hours. I’m nervous about being on such a long flight, but I know it will be more than worth it once we land.

I want to thank everyone involved in making this trip happen, including Dr. Yun, Chris Kirchof, everyone at the Swanson School of Engineering Global Experiences Office, and all the students going on the trip. Of course, I also want to thank my parents for supporting me for this trip! I also need to thank them for helping me figure out how I was going to move out of my dorm before going to the airport.

These next two weeks are going to be so exciting, and I cannot wait to get to Korea!
