This was our first day in Greece and it was a lovely way to start off a great vacation. We spent a majority of our day exploring the UNIC Athens campus, especially their new phase 1 building. This building was brand new as of September 2025 and we were one the first study abroad groups to visit it. It included many interesting features like a staircase that was suspended completely with tension from the ceiling. There was also a very impressive genetics lab in the basement of the building. This lab contained state-of-the-art machines that could process genome scans at rates that would set records in Greece. Exploring this brand new building in a country that is new for me is something I will remember forever because it showed me that there is so much of the world I have yet to explore. It also let me know that there is great engineering experts working all around the world to conquer impressive feats.
