NUIC supposed future

Today was the first day in Athens and it did not disappoint. We got to visit the astounding campus of NUIC with their state of the art facilities and epic views of Athens and its new addition the Ellinikon. During our visit to the NUIC campus, more specifically the guided tour, we explored all of the floors including the lab floor. Majority of this floor was full of labs for differing subjects, such as chemistry or biology, with expensive equipment that could reach 1.3 million Euros. However, the most impressive room, by far, was the cadaver room. The cadaver room is a room with the remains of human bodies and allows students to study the remains to help their understanding of the human body. Other than that fact, the more interesting fact about that room, and specifically the one found on campus, is that every molecule in that room is changed every 5 minutes. That’s something absolutely absurd to me as the room is not small either. This random yet fascinating fact helps me realize the power of current engineering and it’s effects on modern technology, making me even more excited for the upcoming year and what I can do in my labs. I hope to do something comparable in my near future with the knowledge I learn from not only this trip but my education at Pitt as well.
