We have finally landed in Korea! The long flight was worth it, but I was very tired. I slept the whole flight, but the plane was uncomfortable. When we finally got to the hotel, I showered immediately; it was so nice to be clean. Then I had breakfast with my friends Anshi, Kali, and Maddie, rested a little, and then the day truly began.

We went to the subway with the group, which was my first time using a subway in general. It was very crowded and very fast-paced, but it was very convenient for traveling fast. Then we arrived at our first destination, Gyeongbokgung, the largest palace in Korea. It was very impressive and we were told that the entire palace was made of just the blocks and wood; no nails were used. Then we watched the changing of the guards, which was cool, and then continued to walk around the city.

When we walked around, I saw a lot of interesting things, like an outdoor library spread out across the city and a lot of buildings had screens plastered all over them, showing different advertisements. I went to 7/11 with my friends Anshi and Emily, and we tried the drinks there, which were super yummy.
Then we went to this nearby village that had a lot of old architecture with actual residents. A lot of the buildings were fragrance stores too. It was fun to smell all the different scents and some of my friends even bought some. We also went to some of the other stores that had a lot of stuffed animals and fidgets.

Then we walked a while to Gwangjang Market. It was very crowded but cool to see all the different live markets around us and the different stores. I got chicken skewers at one of the stands and they were really yummy and they made them right in front of me. Afterwards, V, Sophie, Emma, and I went to Olive Young and I bought a bunch of skincare and makeup and they were also doing a Pokémon collab! V and I also got a skin analysis done on our faces! My skin is pretty good, except it was a little dry, but that makes sense after our long day. We were so tired that we went back to the hotel and took the subway, which was pretty easy to figure out. Then I debriefed the day with my friends Anshi, V, and Maddie and also got fried chicken! It was so good but today made me so tired.

I am so excited for the next day full of sightseeing and all the new experiences we will have!
