First of all today we started by going on an interesting historical tour of center city Athens. This included old and contemporary history as we were guided to places like dig sites and The Plaka.

One of the highlights of my day was visiting the company Lamda in Greece, in which we were able to understand what GIS and MiG technology is all about and their use cases in major constructions. The MiG technology is something that caught my attention in particular because of its advancement compared to the traditional 3D CAD modeling, such as the introduction of the 4D (time and schedule), 5D (cost estimation) and 6D (maintenance) perspectives. These learnings will affect my future role as an industrial engineer in a way that would make me think about system processes differently, not individually but holistically by optimizing multiple aspects at once. The knowledge on how data could be used in terms of designing, scheduling, budgeting, and maintenance provided by these advanced technologies is valuable for my role since it can help me achieve efficient results. Moreover, GIS, drones mapping, and coding were also impressive applications of technologies that will be valuable assets in my engineering future.
