Day two we embarked on our first official company tour with Lambda, we were able to receive remarkable insight about the specifics of how constriction processes operate. As an Industrial Engineer, I have always been interested in Project Management and our visit with Lambda just helped to reinforce my passion. Tasos Papapostolou spoke to us about how the role specializes in time and money management to ensure that the company is staying afloat and on schedule for production. Additionally, I was able to understand that oftentimes the position takes on more of a delegator role which is a skill that I look forward to developing in preparation for the future. Another highlight of our visit was being able to learn about how other companies utilize what I know as Virtual Design Construction to help create an innovative way to speed up and manage production. The usage of Building Information Systems and Geographic Information Systems truly tickled my brain. The integration of technology like the 3D, 4D, 5D, and 6D models and the mapping of construction sites gave me an understanding of the possibilities that are out there!
