Today was our second full day in Bilbao! After an early breakfast, we boarded the bus and headed to Gorliz Hospital about 45 minutes away from the city. Once we arrived, we listened to a short presentation from the staff and management. They shared how their practice revolves around patient centered care and evidence based practice which is very similar to how nursing is in the United States. They also shared a lot about the hospital’s history and how it runs today. We then split into three smaller groups to take a tour of the traditional hospital. We saw patient rooms, physical therapy gyms, and the Oreka Balance. Since we were introduced to Oreka Balance yesterday, It was extremely interesting to actually see and try it out in person. 

After the hospital, we walked along the ocean into the neighbouring town to get some lunch. I had a pintxo and a delicious latte. Once we had finished lunch, we got on the metro back to Bilbao. We then headed to Zaka for our amazing welcome dinner with Professor Saioa. I had some pork ribs and yummy cheesecake while debriefing with everyone about what a fun time we all had at the hospital. After our 3 hour dinner, we headed back to the hotel for some much needed rest for what tomorrow will bring.
