As far as I know, Costa Rica has been really big on environmental sustainability for some time. As an outsider, this makes me think that the country is really clean and not wasteful. To me, it seems like they are trying to contain their land and keep it healthy. I think the focus on sustainability seems really cool.

When I did a search for major initiatives in sustainability, the main two topics I was seeing was renewable energy and forest conservation. Neither of these topics have anything to do with agriculture, coffee, or bananas.

I am super excited to go to Costa Rica for many different reasons. First, I get to spend time with people and grow closer connections with them. Second, I get to explore a new country and learn all about it. And finally, I get to see how a different country acts compared to the USA! I cannot wait for this amazing opportunity with amazing people!!!!
