These past couple of days have been some of the most memory filled moments of this trip. After our back to back company visits with Tototheo and ACS informing us of all of the various aspects that supply chain in different areas had to offer, having the opportunity to celebrate the engagement in Greek culture has been unforgettable.
Yesterday and today, we have been given the opportunity to go out and explore what exactly is out in Athens, Greece. A true experience of understanding what exactly Athens has to offer given its roots in their beloved ancient history.
Yesterday, my friends and I went back to Monstrakeki Square, the place we visited on Day 2. We were able to talk to the locals about the different Greek events like their daily flea market with just about everything you could find. A place with food, clothes, souvenirs, leather bags, and more, truly it felt as if anything I was interested in the market had it. Personally, I am a huge evil eye enthusiast. I have always appreciated their symbolism for protection, luck, and prosperity, so having the opportunity to see evil eyes left and right made me want to jump for joy. (I even got some to bring back for me as well as some gifts for the family :D) Not to mention the delicious handmade pies and our scenic walk through the botanical garden where we befriended a turtle we named Olive.
But today just may take the cake. From visiting the Temple of Poseidon (as a part of Team Poseidon) to spending the whole day on the beach nothing can be topped. With my first time swimming in the ocean in years it was nice to let loose and enjoy Athens’ sun with everyone. We all got to try Galaktoboureko which was a syrup soaked pastry with a creamy middle filling which was pretty delicious. To end this blog, I loved being able to see the huge sunset on the beach after enjoying a nice meal at Pasta Viva where as we played spikeball and took some super nice photos.
