Visiting the strawberry farm was a great way to start our trip and it was awesome getting to see behind the scenes and learning what they were all about. The delicious strawberries were obviously a highlight of the tour, but it was really cool getting to learn about everything that goes into producing such a good quality and sustainable product. We got to learn about many tricks of the trade, such as how certain plants help keep the birds from eating the strawberries and how important it is to keep the strawberries away from any potential contamination. The experience definitely showed that the farm has a sustainable relationship between people, land, and commerce.

We then got to visit La Paz Waterfall Gardens, as well as their wildlife sanctuary and yummy buffet (cas juice is amazing!). The experience was incredible and it was super fun getting to explore the beautiful rainforest and its waterfalls. It’s super cool how they are able to give people the opportunity to experience La Paz in a way that supports the sustainability of the environment as well as supporting the commerce and allowing everyone to benefit from it. They also do a really good job of making the animal enclosures feel more like a natural habitat. All in all, it was an incredible first day and memorable adventure.
