Ports are more than just the content of containers

As we Piraeus Container Terminal’s port, we encountered various types of cargo containers, from standard 20 feet and 40 feet containers. During our tour around the port, we could see different constructions being carried out, as well as different cranes and forklifts that were handling the cargo. It was exciting to spot two extremely rare “mother ships,” which are huge vessels designed to transport substantial quantities of cargo in one journey. The entire port is made up of three different sectors, which are a combination of Greek ports and the working process borrowed from China’s COSCO Company. It was interesting to witness the effective cargo handling process at the port and the massive amount of cargo being loaded. Different apps were used to monitor forklift movement, handle cargo, and check the speed and safety. Which where displayed within the main and building and could be acceded by management anytime time through an app. Overall it was very cool to see a port in operation especially one the size of Piraeus.
