Cafe Britt is an example of a company that markets a Costa Rican culture and shapes it for foreigners and tourists during the same time. The company shows people Costa Rica’s coffee traditions, the agriculture, and its cultural identity. The tour and how they promoted the story all focus on Costa Rican pride and help show visitors products that have a big impact on the country’s economy. By producing coffee all over the world , Café Britt also shows love to the local farmers and gives spotlight on the global attention to Costa Rica beyond the techonology and tourism
While doing this some of the experiences that I felt was that the things were performed for an outside audience. The marketing and how they storytell create a connection through their samples, humor, and history. I felt that I was able to kind of label some of the coffee project as a Costa Rican Experience which made me want to buy their product even more.
In my opinion Cafe Britt leans more towards benefiting the Costa Rican ecnomy and culture. Even though Cafe Britt is heavily marketed, a lot of other businesses use marketing towards growing their revenue and profit. What makes me feel like it is authentic is that the product is based on Costa Rican coffee and their national culture rather than a multinational brand.
