Today marks the last full day of our trip. We took a bus ride over to AlphaOmega a pharma logistics to take a tour of their warehouse. After a short presentation we were taken on an exclusive tour through their warehouse. It was fascinating to see behind the scenes, something that they made sure to note wasn’t very common. They showed us their massive freezers that are used to keep the medicine at a low temperature for storage. Something that really stood out to me was the lack of noise we heard during our tour. Apart from the occasional beep from a forklift backing up there was little noise coming from the workers. The man walking us through the warehouse pointed out that this was because they are so well organized on the job that there isn’t any reason to communicate. I thought that was kind of eerie but also so cool that they could optimize their system so well.
