My featured image showcases my purchase of Amlou, “Moroccan Nutella,” from a Moroccan cooperative called Issafarnbio. I shared this picture because the purchase was not just a purchase, rather a process of learning about the cooperative and conversing with the person working in the shop.

I like this picture of assorted desserts/pastries from lunch because this was the first time I had the opportunity to try them. Other times they were being sold from street vendors and we were told to avoid buying food from them. My favorites were the almondy circle cookie and the flat circle pastry with honey.

On the right side of the picture, you can see the Koutoubia Mosque, whereas the left side was a mosque they took down because it had an error facing Mecca. In the past, booksellers sold academic books outside the mosque. The mosque also has to be the tallest building for 30 to 40 meters in each direction so people can see the top of it. I chose this picture because it reflects a place that is both important in history and today.
