Today we are heading back to Seoul the place where this whole trip started. Earlier today we went on a visit of the Hyundai Museum which was really interesting. We were able to see the first car that Hyundai exported that was actually the Ford brand as well as their first signature car that Hyundai made the Pony. It was really interesting since it had the side mirrors on the hood of the car so it could get a wider range of view of the street behind itself. We later checked out a version of their first experiments with an electric car which although was not very effective was very cool in design. And it was interesting to see how much electric cars have changed and advanced in just thirty years. We later saw one of Hyundais newest electric cars and it actually was so cool I though that it was beautfully designed.
After the Hyundai history museum, we went to the factory itself to see the manufacturing of these cars. When we went it there were a ton of Conveyor belts moving the cars bodies along as workers would one by one put different pieces of the car together. We saw how the bumper was put on and the steering rod as well as the internals of the car and the doors. It was really interesting; we learned that there is a timer for each piece of the car put on and it came out to 63.7 seconds so about every minute a new piece of the car had to be added. But this had to be done about three hundred times before the car would be completely finished. We finally went on a bus tour of the rest of the Hyundai factory where we were able to see a ton of different areas were the car went through different stages such as the importation centers and exportation centers.
