Day 13 – Departure Day!

on

To summarize my time abroad in Argentina I will talk in terms of their health systems and also in terms of life.

To start, it was really cool to learn about how a public health care system works. We also learned a little about how the government functions. I got some insight into the multiple different political parties of Argentina as well as some locals’ personal takes on how it operates. Overall, I feel like I have a whole new level of gratefulness for having access to everything I need and more in the US.

In terms of life lessons, I think there is a lot to learn from the Argentine lifestyle. Since there is a lot of European influence, they eat very slowly. This really allows you to be present and spend quality time with people. Adding onto that, the people we met here were so friendly and kind. We witnessed our tour guides helping strangers on the sidewalks and we met a few college students that wanted to further connect and get to know everyone. These are things that I think will stick with me forever.

I think overall I can take many things from this experience, but more specifically, appreciation for my living situation as well admiration for the way of life in Argentina. I also will miss the friends I made these past two weeks.
