Days 11/12 – The final days.

on

Day 11 was a nice chill day after another long travel day back from the Waorani. We were all absolutely exhausted, not only from the travel but from the packed day with the tribe. Breakfast at 8am, like usual, but only some pottery painting in the morning, followed by a great showcase of how chocolate is made right in front of us! That night we went out into the town as a group and with some of the staff for one last hoorah before our final day. It was a great time dancing in the bar, the street, and the rain.

Day 12 was nice and chill too, finally some good rest days, but still stuff to do! One last chocolate company tour, which was a little miserable walking through the plantation while it was pouring down, and none of us had the correct shoes. But after we got back inside, tried some chocolate, and even chocolate beer, the mood had shifted and we really appreciated this small company for hosting us and showing the whole process. It was also great how enthusiastic the owner was about it and how much he knew.

Finally, the last night had come, after 2 weeks, we have accomplished so much, and although I’m definitely ready to leave and see my family, and also rest to recover from these bug bites, it does sting a little leaving, after having one of the best trips of my life.

Thank you, Ecuador, thank you, Plus3, and thank you, Skip and Rick!!!
