Day 12: The Day Has Finally Come

The day has finally come, the day many have been dreading. I am just kidding, but in all honesty, today was pretty intimidating. The whole trip, even back in Pittsburgh, has basically revolved around this presentation. It is honestly surreal that it was finally time to present.

We started off the day bright and early; I got some breakfast and immediately started grinding out the rest of my research. I didn’t have much more to do, so it wasn’t that bad, but I was having trouble focusing so I decided to slam two more coffees. Not the best idea…

At around 12:30, most of the groups took the streetcar over to the university and met up with the rest of their groups. We did this as well and also got a quick bite at the Canteen to have some energy to present. After a few finishing touches it was time to present.

We walked into the room, and within a few minutes, the first group was up. Let me just say that I think every group did amazing. It seemed that everyone really did put in the work, and it showed. We were the second-to-last group to go, so I was a bit sluggish but nevertheless locked in. The presentations were longer than I expected, and we were in that room for a very long time. The feeling of the last group going and knowing that we had all completed our work here was indescribable.

After the presentations, we had an hour to run home, change, and then meet at dinner. I forget the name, but the restaurant we were in was basically under the city hall, so that was really cool. I got the Wiener Schnitzel once again, and this was easily the best one I had the whole trip. I did not leave a crumb on my plate. I cannot imagine a better way to end the day than with this restaraunt.

Overall, today was a lot of hard work and a lot of nerves, but we finally did it. We completed what we came here to do, and it was time to enjoy the rest of our time in Germany. It was honestly pretty sentimental walking out of the restaurant; it was almost impossible to think that two weeks had flown by. However, I could not let this takeaway from the rest of my time here.
