Looking back on the entire trip, I find myself returning to moments throughout our time in Germany. We were able to participate in so many great experiences. I was most impacted by our time at Dachau, Audi headquarters, and Werfen, Austria. I find it funny that these moments are the most memorable since they are so different, however, represent the variety of moments from this Germany trip. The most valuable thing I am carrying home from this trip is a new understanding of how connected history, business, and innovation truly are. Within all of these experiences there is a common theme of growth.
I also find myself thankful for my time with my new friends who were on the trip with me! I gained a new perspective I gained from both the places we visited and the people I experienced them with. I loved hearing the way that other students on the trip experienced the site visits. It was great getting to know people I would have never met outside of this trip! Some of the best moments of the trip were conversations with my fellow students and the meaningful discussions we had throughout the trip.
With my new connections and friendships, I also have a greater appreciation for collaboration. I loved getting to work with the German students and the new friends I made from Pitt. Beyond learning about business and sustainability, I learned the value of building relationships. There is something so fun about working together with new people.
Overall, I am leaving Germany with new friends, great experiences, and a better understanding of collaboration. I am so thankful for the ability to get out of my comfort zone and connect with people through shared experiences. I will remember this trip forever and be forever thankful for the people that experienced this trip with me.
