Hi! My name is Daniel Schlegel, and I am a freshman in the College of Business Administration at Pitt. I am currently pursuing majors in Finance and Accounting with an intended minor in Legal Studies. I am originally from Wilmington, Delaware but have always considered Pittsburgh my second home, as most of my family still lives in the area. At Pitt, I am involved in the Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity and my social fraternity, Phi Delta Theta. I have also recently completed a year of service through Americorps, where I taught literacy skills to local preschoolers on Mount Washington as part of the Jumpstart program. Some fun facts about me are that I have six grandparents and love to ice skate. The farthest I have traveled is to Florida, so I am very excited to get the opportunity to go all the way to Germany!
In Germany, I am looking forward to learning about the cultural differences the country has with America, and seeing different business practices at work firsthand. In addition, the opportunity to learn about the automobile industry, one facing so many obstacles and changing so rapidly, is truly incredible!
