Today was the best day yet. We had a great company visit at Hirschvogel where we saw a mix of machines and people working in the factory. I have never really been in a typical factory before so it was nice being able to see what I usually imagine. Our speaker knew almost everything about the company, from engineering to business. Each company does a good job at explaining both, but I do have to say I enjoy the business parts way more. Good thing I chose business as my major.
After the visit, we went to the small town of Oberammergau. It was not bombed in the war, so all the original structures were still standing. It is located at the bottom of mountains and was picture perfect. They had so many little shops that were all Christmas themed (my favorite holiday), so I spent hours looking at all the cute ornaments and nut crackers. We then took a trip up the mountain in a lift which was scary but amazing. I’m not a fan of heights, but the great view distracted me from being scared. Once we got to the top, I was in awe of the breathtaking Alps. I visit Alaska a lot, so I have seen plenty large mountains, but none compared to these. I passed the time by taking about a thousand photos and drinking coffee, all while enjoying the view. That night, we grabbed bratwurst and Gelato while walking the town. I love how there is so much to do in Germany and all so different. You can see large mountains and large cities, when in some states you can only get one.
