Our last day in Germany was our free day. A group of about 10 of us were heading off to Munich because we felt that we didn’t get to see everything Munich had to offer the last time. Our main destination was the English Garden because we heard from so many people about how beautiful it was. Thankfully, our savior, Matthias came with us because we would not have been able to get around without him. Our first stop in Munich was a rocky beach where we skipped rocks for nearly an hour. Then, we went to the English Garden which reminded me a lot of Central Park in New York City. We saw people surfing on a river and others just enjoying a relaxing day in the park.
For a late lunch, we went to a beer garden that was inside the English Garden. I got half of a chicken and a pretzel which were both very good. The atmosphere in the beer garden was something I had never experienced before. Unfortunately, it started to rain, but this did not dampen our spirits. We then left the beer garden and walked around Munich until we caught the train back to Augsburg. Matthias was staying in Munich so we had to say goodbye to him at the train station which was very upsetting.
When we got back to Augsburg, we got dinner at a Donor place near the hotel. The people were very nice there and gave us free ice pops. After dinner, I had to go back to the hotel and start packing. I had been dreading this for a while because I really did not want to go back to the U.S. I thought our free day was a lot of fun and I’m glad we had the chance to go back to Munich.
