On the itinerary for today, we have two site visits to Cheetah Mobile and to Microsoft. As we were driving to Cheetah Mobile, our first visit, I did not know what to expect. However, from the moment we got off the bus I was intrigued and in awe. The company building was absolutely beautiful. There were elegant fountains outside, koi ponds inside, and an incredible view from the roof. At Cheetah Mobile we got the opportunity to talk with the CTO, which is the chief technology officer. He gave us an overview of the company and then had a Q&A with us. After that was over we got a tour of the building. I’ve never seen anything like it. There was a rock wall, a slide from the second floor to the ground floor, a karaoke room, a massage room, a daycare, and so much more. My expectations were absolutely shattered. After we went to Microsoft, where we got to look at their newest technology. We were given a run down on the new Windows 10 and saw some of their cool new toys such as a group chat that translates multiple languages of all members of the chat, a drone that has the capability of taking pictures of people and analyzing their age and emotions, and their newest gadget: the HoloLens. The HoloLens are glasses that show holograms in real life by merging Augmented and virtual reality. I was also one of the four students who got to try it. After Microsoft we finished off the day by going to a market, where we haggled prices until we decided to call it a day.
