Irish I was in Dublin

Hello! My name is Madeline Collins. I am currently a Junior at the University of Pittsburgh pursuing a degree in Marketing and also a minor in Theatre Arts. I am currently the Philanthropy Chair for my sorority and have a marketing internship with Pitt Athletics. I love spending time with my pug (Zelda), trying different restaurants in Pittsburgh, and going for runs in Schenley Park.

This summer, I will be studying abroad in Dublin as apart of Pitt’s Plus3 program. This study abroad program is a great opportunity for me to travel overseas for the first time. Since I will be spending 2 weeks in Dublin, I will be able to start my internship with Pitt Athletics as soon as I return to the Burgh. I chose to study abroad in Ireland because it holds a special place in my heart. I am 50% Irish myself and have always had an appreciation for its culture. I hope this trip to Ireland will allow me to become a more cultured individual.  I am extremely excited to experience places like the Cliffs of Moher and a visit to the Wicklow Mountains. I want to academically grow by taking my studies outside of the classroom and into the “real world.” I want to apply myself into a different academic setting and engage in cultural experiences. This trip allows for once in a lifetime site visits at some of the most booming tech companies.  I look forward to professionally growing by networking with different companies such as Google, Facebook, and Paypal. Dublin is going to be an incredible experience to grow as an individual. I look forward to all the opportunities Dublin has to offer!
