Vietnam Bound!

Hi everyone! My name is Gabrielle Stroh, but I go by Ellie! I am from a small town outside of Montpelier, Vermont. I live with my mom, dad, little brother, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and some chickens. I am in the business school, and I am tentatively majoring in marketing, supply chain management, and BIS.  I am also in the CPLE program. During the summer I work at a summer camp and teach swimming. I love to be outside, listen to music, bake, and most of all hang out with friends!

I think of myself as extraverted, and I am excited to get to know everyone on this trip! I’ve traveled a lot in my life, but I’ve never been anywhere in Asia. I chose to go to Vietnam because I knew it would be a challenge. I really want to study abroad for a full semester at some point and I think this will be a great taste of what that will be like.

I wanted to push myself and travel somewhere I would never travel with my family or on my own. I am nervous but excited! When I traveled to Bermuda for a marine biology trip in 2016 I was scared of getting in water with big fish. By the end of the trip, I was actually diving at night with barracuda! Now I know that saying yes to everything and pushing myself past my comfort zone is what makes the best memories! In Vietnam I am going to have an open mindset and try as much as I can. After all, this is a once in a lifetime experience. Everyone I talked to who went last year said it was some of the best weeks of their life, and I am excited to make memories.
