Today, we had another fun and busy day! After a delicious Italian breakfast, we headed to the Università Cattolica. During our visit, a woman briefed us on the university, its emphasis on international studies, and the opportunities — such as study abroad and internships — for students from the United States. It was interesting to hear about the classes taught in English at this university.
Then, we listened to an informative presentation on the fashion industry throughout Italy. This talk touched upon relevant topics such as sustainability and fast fashion.
Afterwards, we met up with and had lunch with some Italian students that had previously studied abroad at various universities to learn about daily life. I was thrilled to be able to meet one-on-one with one of the students Andrea who was both informative and personable. I really enjoyed walking through this picturesque campus.
In the afternoon we toured the Leonardo da Vinci National Museum of Science and Technology. It was intriguing to view the Mars exhibit, trains, and ships.
In the evening, we had dinner and gelato (of course) at the Navigli, which is a restaurant and shopping dinner beside the canal. Even though it was stormy during the end of our evening, it was great to relax with new friends.
It was also exciting to navigate the Metro successfully today — even when we had to get off a train because it broke down! I am starting to feel more confident with my sense of direction and language ability!
