The Cliffs of Moher are one of the most beautiful sites I have ever seen. At first glance, the immensity of it all took my breath away. This is the Ireland that I had envisioned prior to this trip. I pictured rolling hills, sheep, small cottages, and narrow, winding roads. I have loved Dublin so far and all of the great city aspects that come along with it, but getting a chance to leave and see a different part of the country was great! The drive to the cliffs reminded me a lot of Bosnia– where I will be heading next.
In general, I expected there to be a lot of shops around the cliffs, which there were, but they were off to the side and you almost didn’t notice them. I thought it was great that they did not serve as a distraction from the beautiful site. I think this relates back to the article we read yesterday about how the people who bought the cliffs were very picky about the business they let happen there. Again, I had the chance to talk to other people who were visiting the Cliffs at the same time, and I found people from all over the world! Overall, this was one of my favorite experiences yet on this trip.
