Tailoring, Knitwear, Logistics, Oh My!

This morning I was awakened by a wake up call from the hotel, but I wasn’t expecting it so I was too afraid to answer. I did get up though, and I went to have breakfast in the hotel. After breakfast, we went straight to the Verona Fashion Consortium Logistics Center. We learned about the e-commerce and how they package and ship items from their warehouse. Then, we went to the Sartoria Cavour Tailoring Company and learned about how they sew and tailor suits for outside companies such as Ralph Lauren. After this visit, we were given a nice snack of chips, crackers, and pop. This was the first time I’ve had Pepsi since being here!

Then, we went to a nice restaurant for lunch, and had tortellini and tiramisu! Afterwards, we had a little bit of free time, so we went to this little bridge to look at the scenery and take pictures. Next, we traveled to MF1 knitwear factory. Here, we saw how they design, make, and piece together their fashion items. It was so cool to see everything they made, because a lot of it was for designer brands like Gucci and Givenchy. I also really enjoyed feeling all of the sweaters because they were so soft!

Once all the site visits were done, we traveled back to Milan. I was kinda sad to leave Verona, but Milan isn’t all that bad! We had some nice pizza for dinner then called it a night.
