Al Mundo!—To the World

Ciao Everybody!

My name is Christina, though I go by Tina. I’m from Bellwood Pennsylvania, a small town nestled in the heart of Penn State country. Although I’ve been immersed in Penn State culture my entire life, I have always had a passion for Pitt. And here I am today!

Currently, I’m a freshman in Pitt Business planning to major in Marketing with certificates in Leadership and Ethics and Sports Management. I have interests in sports, media, traveling and of course, fashion! I’m happy to say, this summer I will be pursuing two of those interests in the fashion capital of the world, Milan Italy!

Traveling has always been a dream of mine, and one of the reasons I chose Pitt was because of their amazing study abroad experiences and opportunities. It’s always been important to me to see what the world has to offer outside of Pennsylvania’s rolling mountains and bright white winters. Thanks to Pitt, I finally have that opportunity. It’s true what they say—from the classroom, to the city, to the world (or al mundo as they say in Italian).

Our itinerary for our time in Italy has just been updated and finished, and everyday seems more exciting than the last. We visit all types of companies, some familiar and some unfamiliar to me—either way I’m excited all the same! We’re here to study supply chain. Even though I’ve had a limited experience with supply chain in my classes, I still find it super cool and interesting as it goes hand in hand with my marketing major. To make it even better, we’re studying the supply chain of fashion and in the most fashionable place in the world. I can’t wait!

These next few weeks are going to feel so long, and studying for finals is going to be hard while in my head I’m dreaming of visiting Versacci’s home in Lake Como or riding Gondola boats down canals in Venice. Can May 3rd come any quicker?

Addio for now friends!
