Hi! My name is Nick Sciarra, and this is the first time that I’ve ever made a blog post. I am from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, which is on the eastern part of the state, right where Lehigh University is. I’m a freshman and my intended major is finance, with an economics minor. The reason I decided to do Plus3 is because it’s a great opportunity and it’s only offered to freshmen, so I’ll be with people that are in the same scenario as me. I also decided to do Plus3 with my roommate, who was initially put in Costa Rica but now he is in Cyprus 1, so we’ll be there together.

Life in Pittsburgh is a lot different than life at home, so I’m eager to compare what life will be like in Cyprus compared to at Pitt. I’m expecting it to be a lot different than here, and I’m excited to see the differences in the food and in the everyday life. I can’t wait to try as much Greek and Turkish food as possible, and to live the life of a typical Cypriot for 2 weeks. On top of that, what I’m most excited for is the beaches as going to the beach is my favorite thing to do, and I’m sure they’re way more lavish in Cyprus.

I’ve only ever been outside of the country once, and it was to Mexico, so I’ve never been to a European country. My eagerness is through the roof and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us for the 2 weeks that we’re there!
