Countdown to Argentina: 30 Days!

Hi everyone! My name is Tori Mauro, and I’m a first-year student at the University of Pittsburgh’s College of Business Administration. I’m double majoring in Supply Chain Management and Marketing, with a minor in Spanish, and certificates in International Business and Sports Management. On campus, I’m involved in the American Marketing Association, Women in Sports and Entertainment, and the American Cancer Society. In my free-time, I love taking walks in Schenley Park, trying new restaurants, and hanging out with friends.

In one month, I will be traveling to Buenos Aires, Argentina on a two-week program with a group of business and nursing students to study healthcare management. I’m very grateful for this opportunity to travel internationally and immerse in a new culture. I chose this program because of my interest in International Business and Spanish. This is the perfect opportunity for me to use my Spanish education and learn about how businesses operate outside of the U.S.

During my two weeks abroad, I’m hoping to gain many experiences personally, academically, and professionally. I feel it’s so important to see the world and gain new perspectives, and this is my first opportunity to do so. Academically, I’m hoping to use my Spanish skills to communicate and an understanding of international health systems. Healthcare is one of the largest businesses all around the world, so this will greatly enhance my understanding of the business world. Professionally, I hope to make connections internationally and determine if studying or working abroad is something I’m interested in doing in the future.

I can’t wait to share my trip and experiences through these blog posts!
