We started our day of with a lecture and learning about Medife. It’s a private insurance company and an union system. We visited ICBA (Instituto Cardiovascular) and the health director was incredibly knowledgable. First off, the appearance of this institute was beautiful. They had a room where they wanted it ot be like the patients were in an airport. It seemed so relaxing and within the floor there were shock rooms, operating rooms and a nursing station. We learned that there focus is patient experience and care. They focus on cardiology and this was a specialized hospital. There patient ot nurse ratio was incredible as well (1:2). The nurses work 8 hours for 5 days. There are also nurses who only work on the holidays and weekends which was cool because that’s not common in the U.S.
After ICBA, we went to the Malba Museum. I typically do not like museums but it was really cool to see the art. We went to their cafe prior to the visit and the food was great. The workers were so friendly and caring. Below, I will show my favorite pieces from the museum.
