This was our last full day in Korea. We spent this day on the Han River Cruise and presenting our final presentations and videos. We had extra time in the morning to prepare for the presentation. We then headed off to the Han River for a Riverboat Cruise.
Before going on the actual cruise, we had lunch at the park nearby. We then made our way onto the boat for the cruise. There were seats with large windows on the first deck, but most people in our group decided to head up to the top deck. The weather was beautiful; it was sunny and warm with a nice breeze blowing through. There was an area on the boat where you could buy dried fish to feed to the seagulls flying around. This was also a good opportunity to get some pictures with my friends and reflect on my time here in Korea. It was really relaxing and gave me time to just go through my thoughts.
As the cruise came to an end, it was time to go back to the hotel and prepare for the final presentation. Everyone met up and walked to a building where you could rent out rooms to hold meetings. My group’s business idea was an interactive map app where it could show the user places to eat near their area. We thought that this would be targeted towards foreign tourists because of the features that we will be adding to platform. There will be translation of menus and restaurant names, conversion of currency to reflect prices that foreigners might understand better, and the ability to save restaurants to a list and share that list to others.
As I sit in the airport about to get on a 14 hour flight back to the US, it is kind of a bittersweet moment. Although I loved Korea and being here, I can’t wait to go home to my family. This trip has really enhanced my global experiences as well as professional skills, and I’m so grateful that I was granted this amazing opportunity.
